So lets recap shall we,
Wednesday night, lets see... that would be what... oh ya New Year's Eve.
This nice man and his lovely wife had us over for a delightful evening, of terrific food and some stunning wines. I forgot my score sheet but I'm sure he will remember our favorite Chardonnay. I really must have some more.
We all had such a good time. It was nice to be with a few good friends for the night.
My girls enjoy evenings like this and having time with grownups and young children is their idea of a better time spent.
Of course when you throw a puppy into the mix it just gets better and better.
Kathy and Jim have a really nice family, here they are chatting with their lovely daughter Autumn, and we are glad that they share their precious time together with us. The only ones missing from the pictures are my dear friend Sheila who was sitting to close to me when I felt all picture takey. And myself of course, even if I were photogenic I don't do self portraits Anna style!
The years just get better and better as they move along. I am glad that for now I am able to ring in the New Year with those God has given me to love.

Thursday, after we had a quiet day watching parades and games, we joined the Leonards for an evening of more football and a few other games. Terry gave me a new Tozer and I am excited to get to it after the holidays are over (that would be January sixth).
.
Today we did some boring stuff, Dirt and the girls built more of the duck pen, I pruned a bit but not a great deal as I had some work to do in the prop house too. Dirt chose to not have Friday gathering here. I think he might be suffering from holiday tissue fatigue and loss of sleep thanks to the coyotes and I'm close behind.
.
So not only did we not host but we didn't go in either. I think tomorrow will be the same so that we can rest up for our Three Kings feast on Monday with all of our children and grandboys. Then Ol' Befana comes to the house that night with tasty healthy goodies and some cleaning supplies, she is rather a fanatic for a tidy home and loves to help out and inspire young apprenticing homemakers, when she gets to our house she is not as traditional as she is in her homeland of Italy.
.
Well Dear Reader I must hit the hay, my pruning hand among other things are just a little tired and sore. I think the holiday sugar is making me weak. See you in the morning.

It looks like you and your family had a great week and are blessed with wonderful friends. Kathy is one of the very first visitors to my blog and a real supporter. Your girls are beautiful. I am with you, I am trouble knowing what day of the week it is! Maybe next week, we will get back into the routine.
Losing track of days is an admirable trait - means they are all important rather than folks who "live for the weekend"! Your week sounds wonderful - busy and makin choices about what to do and not do. I second the comment - your daughters are quite lovely - seems their character is reflected in their faces. Good job!
looks like a wonderful holiday! have a great weekend my friend!

You've described the perfect New Years Eve. For your age.
As of late we've been celebrating with Grandchildren so our kids can have some time.
You have some lovely daughters. I'm sure the apples didn't fall far from the tree.
Looks to me like you have had some wonderful friends/family moments these last few days Lanny!
Like you my husband has been off for the last two weeks too. I have been very confused as to what day it is. Have a wonderful weekend!
