BTW About Anna

If I made it seem like she is a typical teenager in the sense that we have a hard time getting along and I am just holding my breath till we get through it, I apologize.

Like Kathy said she is a gem, all my girls were. Dirt and I have not had the experience that most parents have had with teenagers.

When my oldest was pre-teen, people used to tell me that things would change and we would cease to get along. But that never happened. My girls have always been hard workers, pleasant to be with and incredibly respectful of their Dad and Mom. As pure a pleasure to be around as any of my friends are.

We spend nearly every waking moment together, they do not attend school, and I never regret the choice I made either to have children that are a blessing and a gift nor have I ever regretted keeping them at home with me.

So by typical, I really did mean just the phone thing, well, we could throw shopping in there too but she is by no means typical in other manners. Doors are not slammed, rotten words are not spoken under her breath, I have never been yelled at, petulance is not suffered by others. Oh, she has her opinions and knows when she can express them and how, she is not a wall flower nor her father's and my doormat. I know she will have a good long life because she honors her father and mother well.

I never thought she could act like a brat and survive living in the country with God fearing parents! So maybe somebody else got the idea she was "typical" - I find it sad society has defined being a teenager as being obnoxious and rude - surely wasn't for hundreds of years but somehow now that is considered a normal trait. There - that's my curmudgeony comments for today! Hiya Dirt Household -

I don't know that what you describe ISN'T "typical" -- I think we just HEAR a lot more about the negative children. My girls never gave me any trouble either... Now my BOYS??? That's another story! LOL! Boys WILL be boys!

Your relationship with your girls sounds like ours with Mother. Always enjoyed one another's company, always a best friend...I sure miss her.

Hi Lanny, Hope you are feeling better today. You know, in the twenty something years of passing "the castle" I have never seen the people that live there!!! I'm going to keep my camera in the car though and I'll keep you posted! Hope you and the family have a great weekend.

Lanny, I've been sitting here reading several of your posts and I have so enjoyed them. Isnt' it great to have a good relationship with your children? Mine arent' perfect but I think I have a good relationship with them.
I've never fasted before, never really had the desire but a good detox would do me good.
Your story of the little lamb is so sweet and sad altogether. Do sheep really act that way towards others?
Well, you have a blessed day, get to feelign better.

I always hate it when you haven't seen someone's kids for a really long time like when they were really young, then you go visit and not only are they much older and into young adulthood, but they've also changed so much - like attitude and act as if they don't enjoy the simple things anymore you know? I have to say - your girls have pleasantly 'not changed' in that way - they are the same girls they were as young 'uns and can still enjoy the simple things in life while being a lot of fun at the same time! We always have such a great time around all of your girls and are glad we could know such wonderful 'ladies.'!

Your daughters sound like wonderful blessings to me, Lanny. They are lucky to have you as their mom too, I think. :)
