We used to have an electric furnace, I hung a sign on it once that said, "If you're cold light a fire. If you're lazy freeze."
Now that the furnace is history it really is true that if you're lazy you'll freeze at our house, well if you come to visit and you're cold we'll light one for you.
It is nice to pick up logs that other folks can't use and preserve our woodlot.
Dirt is using a peavy to roll the log so that he can run the saw all the way through it. Aren't his green headphones cute, he always wears ear protection, I never do. Funny, he can never hear a thing during the day and I can hear what the girls are whispering in the hallway.
We couldn't park the trailer on the lawn so we wheelbarrowed the logs to the trailer.
The girls worked hard all day, I did too, I just took a couple of pictures.
The logs must be neatly stacked in the stock trailer/moving van/logging truck.
And that was our weekend fun Dear Reader. It keeps us healthy and off the streets. What do you do on the weekend to keep yourself out of trouble?
.
Toodles till tomorrow.

The girls are the best workers, and they bake cherry pies too ! For real! I've eaten their pies...and their bread, and had them help around here...they are pretty nifty to have around.A greatly productive weekend for you all!
I was admiring the neatly stacked circles of stump and showing DH the picture - then scrolled on down and laughed out loud (you sometimes have that effect on people) I like the throw those puppies in method! I thought about that old pop song "I can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan - 'cause I'm a woman - w-o-m-a-n"! indeedy - and your girls can split the wood to heat the pan. Weekends - I do much the same as during my week - whatever crosses my path,
Wow, that makes my job seem pretty tame and boring! You all are amazing.
My those girls must be strong! Don't think I would want to get in a fist fight with them.
Lanny you are to be applauded. Too bad more parents haven't taught their children like you have yours.
funny thing every time i see the word "wheelbarrow" i remember i used to think it was a wheelbarrel until i was about 50! ha ha ha dumb blonde!

I'm feeling pretty intimidated right now. I cleaned the pollen off the porch furniture this week and it was all I could do to "drag" a chair let alone lift it!
You two must be great parents to have Daughters that help in such a difficult project. My weekends are mini vacations compared to your pictures shown on this post.
Hi Lanny, I've been meaning to stop by after seeing your name on my 'Followers' list. Thank you! But been busy with snapping pics and writing posts. Dang I just know it'll come easier after a while. ;-)
I was sooooo excited to see that you live in Roy. WoW! A town close by that I have actually been to. As a blogger I feel pretty isolated down here on this end of the state.
You have a great blog and I will be snooping around to read more. Thanks so much for stopping by mine.
Free wood is always nice!! The girls have been helping us replinish the woodpile some-and I really only mean a little some. I need to show them your girls in action to inspire them!
Child labor! Our girls used to hate that wood hauling and stacking..but they did it, because they wanted to be warm!
I love our outdoor woodfurnace..first it is outdoors..second I can keep the thermostat at 72 degrees without guilt..and it heats our water:)
Yay for wood and wood stoves!
Looks like a fun family outing! That reminds me, I should probably get off the computer and go get our stove going...
What hard workers! I'm impressed. Next time my daughter complains about picking up after the dog I'll show her these pictures!
Gotta split 'em or you're gonna freeze. :o)
I'm super cleaning the house for vacation. Even steam cleaned the carpets. Whew! I'm pooped too. ♥ ∞
Wow, that post made my back hurt. You all are sure hard workers.
