Credit Where It Is Due

I know, I don't ususally put things like this up but it is amazing isn't it, sheep as art.

Some farmers don't have enough to do obviously. But what really gets me is they couldn't even get close to doing this with out their Border Collies. You can wave your arms all you want but without some great dogs, no way are you going to get a sheep to do what you want it to. Go ahead run through it again, the dogs are there but where is the dogs' credit!?!?

I oughta know, I was Dirt's sheep dog for a few years before I finally had had enough of being a supportive obedient wife (in this one area, maybe one or two other places too but that's not what we're here for today) and walked out of the pasture. Then we got the greatest tool on the whole farm, ever. Our first Border Collie, Peep. As in Little Bo Peep. (Sorry Rat Terriers, but it is true, you're good but not that good.)

As for my giving credit, thanks to Steph, my oldest daughter and Nikki W.. Nikki for posting this on her facebook where Steph saw it.

Amazing! My niece has a border collie and we love the way he herds his toys, Harriet etc.!! I will share this with her.

OK I think their wives just said "do whatever you want - stay out of the house for a week or I'll take that blasted computer and put it in the trash heap" - amazing what can be done with enough smart dogs. Fun - thanks for sharing - what time do you go to the doctor?

You're right. I watched it twice and no credit to the dogs. Reminds me of the old expression "working like a dog"! Great post.

Good cinematography. Very clever. It's fun to watch real border collies work. (I know all that was fake.) ♥ ∞

That was really cool! A bummer that the Border Collies didn't get any credit. I love the way they work sheep..wish I knew someone with sheep for Chance to visit! :)

Amazing video! Wonder if the sheep minded the lights? My dog goes insane if you try to put something one her-like a collar!
