Oh it is exquisite out again today!
The cherries on the big tree are so red I can see them from the house.
I just hope the birds can't see them today.
I think I am going to talk the girls into buying a 16 foot orchard ladder from McLendon's today and tie it to the top of the car. We have reached the limit of my dad's old wooden 10 foot orchard ladder.
A new ladder will also be welcome this winter for pruning the "Widower Maker".
And I know one dear reader who will be thankful we are not climbing to the top of a 50 year old ladder reinforced by duct tape.
Perhaps Grandpa Erb's ladder can be retired to something genteel like hanging pots of flowers off of it.

Your ladder is THAT old ? Goodness, you're way overdue for a new one! Got an idea for the old ladder, I use my Dad's old ladder as a roost in my chicken pen. It is my favorite roost(and no..I don't mean I roost on it )and the chickens seem to like it too! The different levels of rungs seem to appeal to the 'pecking order' inclinations in them.
Anyway, did you get the new ladder ?
And, how long do you think it will take those boys from Arkansas to walk to your place ? KathyB.
Didn't get the new ladder yesterday, hopefully today Mclendon's will get the one that was on their computer as existing in Sumner store. It is a sixteen footer not that I will ever climb that high but then again the cherries are that high and higher.
I hope it takes a long while for those boys to walk from Arkansas. Maybe God could have them wander through some extra states. Just for me. But then I suppose that would be a solid case of asking for something to spend it on myself.
